Symptoms of lumbar nerve injuries include pain, numbness, paresthesias (pins & needles sensation) and possibly motor weakness because of nerve compression.
Additionally, an ankle would not lead to problems of a non-contiguous joint such as your hip. That’s strange I found million articles including from NIH that it does lead to abnormalities via mechanical chain especially at the the hip with any altered chronic gait that throws the entire body off balance.
Are they saying for have problems with your gait or upper extremity motion not due to a neurological disorder? You then needed further surgery (“I underwent a posterior cervical fusion from C4-C7 with rods and pins and laminectomies as C6 and C7”) due to possible incomplete decompression and pseudoarthrosis.
Hi, I’m a 32 year old man and in August 2011 I had a laminectomy surgery of C5 and C6 because of severe spinal cord compression because of congenital spinal stenosis. This left me with a huge myelopathy lesion on the spinal cord at those levels. After surgery my walking gait improved and most sensation has returned in my fingertips. But when laying in bed my left arm keeps on tingling a lot ...
I had presented with weakness in my right arm and hand, muscle fasciculations widespread and problems with gait, spasticity, hyperreflexia, temperature control issues and my arms and wrists would bend up towards my chest when I was resting.
These are signs found upon physical examination that include hyperreflexia, clonus, dysesthesias and problems with gait seen with stress maneuvers. A spine expert should be quite familiar with these signs and should be able to identify them.
I have increasing severity of aching pain in the groin and deep anterior hip and recently the buttocks; hip extension with gait is becoming increasingly more painful, lying supine with legs extended for about 5 minutes results in aggravation of the deep nerve symptoms. All symptoms are right-sided.
