My MSD issue: - I bought a MSD ignition control (6AL-2), a new blaster coil, and using my Distributor (has rotor button). - Just rewired my car with a painless wiring kit. Wired the Ignition control: - Heavy red to constant power feed - Black to body ground - Orange and black wires to Coil (only ones connected to coil) - White wire to black wire on Distributor - The 12v Coil feed is the coil ...
MSD 6AL 6425. MSD Blaster SS Coil 8207 (now replaced with Blaster 2 8202 coil) MSD Blaster 2 Coil 8202 now installed. MSD #8366 GM HEI Computer Controlled Distributor. AC Delco D1943A GM Original Equipment Ignition Control Module which replaced the MSD module. 250 amp MechMan Alternator two Odyssey batteries installed in trunk wired in parallel.
The small red from the distributor & the small red from the MSD box are supposed to both be tied into 12v ignition per MSD diagram, but I had to tie them into the line side of the voltage regulator with the brown (start) wire and the dark blue (run) wire. I assume you mean the ballast resistor which has a brown (start) and dark blue (run) wire.
Installing a Terminator X for a friend and he currently has a MSD 6AL on his car, which is a '91 Fox body running a SBF 331. Trying to decide if we should keep the MSD or just let the Holley run full ignition control.
Trying to figure out what sort of MSD setup to use on my build. It’s a street/strip 512 low deck build. Car will be driven on the street mostly, but will be drag raced a bit. I was looking into the 6 AL, 6 AL digital, 6 AL-2 and AL-2 Programmable boxes. I have read some places say the digital...
I've got a chevy 350 with a pertronix ignition in the distributor and I am trying to hook up my new MSD 6A and MSD Blaster2 Coil. It wouldn't start so I bypassed the MSD Ignition and just started it off the coil and pertronix and it started right up. The problem is when I hook up the Ignition the coil doesn't get any power.

Today, when I tried to start in in my driveway before taking the boat to the river it wouldn't start. The battery has a full charge and turns the motor over just fine. Plenty of fuel. I have checked all electrical connections and found no ...

I've run a MSD 6A for 30 yrs. and use an auto parts store timing light, either in-line with the plug OR clamp over plug wire #1. I accidentally bought a 2nd timing light several years ago when I couldn't find my first one..... I'd sell you my spare for $35 + shipping if you like, proven to work (by me) with MSD ignition.
